Hibaku seed planting workshop by Gary Baxter Smith at Madrona Elementary School in Edmonds, WA

At Madrona Elementary School in Edmonds, WA, Gary Baxter Smith had a workshop with 9 students, planting an assortment of seeds including persimmon, chinese date, japanese hackberry, chinese parasol tree, the holly and the persian lilac.

"We had a very intense planting of your seeds. This was the children's first exposure to such a big idea as a bomb that could destroy trees and plants and other living things. They understood and were very serious about planting the seeds. Our school character trait of the month is Perseverance. Very apt for this project." --- Gary Baxter Smith
