Uta Tachibana's persimmon seed pot grew a mysterious mushroom!!

Uta Tachibana planted Persimmon seed on May 30 My friend, Hiroshi Tachibana's son just planted Persimmon seed on Sunday, May 30. Hiroshi's wife, Tina Schneider wrote about the planting below. This seed is very special because it is a great grandchild of a Hibaku Tree. Hibaku means something that has experienced a nuclear bomb. These are the trees that survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, on August 6, 1945. Hiroshi Sunairi is fostering many of these seeds, placing them in homes all over the United States and the world. Yumeno Shimoda planted Chinese Parasol tree seeds on May 26, 2009 下田夢乃ちゃんが、被曝アオギリの種を植えました。

On May 26, 2009, Yumeno planted Chinese Parasol seeds in a pot in her backyard in East Village with her parents, Kenji and Yayoi Shimoda. Yumeno and Kenji replanted their Tomato seedling into a bigger pot, hoping to grow more Tomatoes. Afterwords, Yumeno played piano and wrote her name in her hand writing. At Madrona Elementary School in Edmonds, WA, Gary Baxter Smith had a workshop with 9 students, planting an assortment of seeds including persimmon, chinese date, japanese hackberry, chinese parasol tree, the holly and the persian lilac. "We had a very intense planting of your seeds. This was the children's first exposure to such a big idea as a bomb that could destroy trees and plants and other living things.
