砂入さま お元気ですか。桜も終り、さつき、つつじの季節です。 本日の広島は、雨にともなう霧が発生して、 広島空港はほぼ全便欠航です。 しばらくNYに伺っていません。 竹澤

砂入さん 先日は、お会いして楽しかったです。 その時の写真と、私が被爆二世の種を発芽させて育てている青桐（被爆三世？）の写真を今朝を撮ったのでおくります。またもう一つは被爆夾竹桃を挿し木して育てているものです。 被爆三世青桐は、緑緑して本当に気持をよくしてくれます。 お元気で 竹澤 Dear Mr. Sunairi, It was nice seeing you the other day. I attached here pictures from that time as well as Hibaku Chinese Parasol Tree that I just shot this morning. I am also growing Hibaku Persimmon bamboo.     「砂 入さん お元気ですか。砂入さんが手配してくださって、ＮＰＯ法人セトラひろしまにおいていた青桐が、室内にあったためか、すでに大きな葉をつけています。このた び、この青桐を再度、前事故があったところに植樹しました。専門家の本山さんが中心になって、琴演奏者の榊さん、セトラひろしまの副理事長の石丸さんとで 植えてくださいました。今度は、事故がないようにしっかりとした木枠で木を守ることとしました。世間の荒波で今度こそ、無事に育ち、夏には多くの人の憩い の場を提供してくれればと思います。 もうひとつの写真群は、私の家のベ ランダにおいていた青桐です。昨年、平和公園にある被爆青桐の種を入手、それを発芽させたものです。寒い冬を越して、今、小さな葉がでようとしています。 青桐の鉢の後ろにあるのは、被爆した夾竹桃から枝をとり、それが芽をだし、葉を出したものです。昨年の、広島アート・プロジェクトで出品されたもので す。」

2011年5月3日 "Hi, Hiroshi, how are you?  The Chinese Parasol tree you arranged for us to have at NPO Cetra Hiroshima has grown large leaves.  Thus, we replanted the seedling on the ground of the park we tried last time someone pulled our tree out.  This time around, Mr. Yamamoto, a specialist, Ms. Sekaki who is a Koto player as well as Mr. Ishimaru of Cetra Hiroshima replanted together.  This time we protect the plant by having fence around the seedling and we hope that this seedling will grow strong in spite of the difficult time we face and ...

「 やっと猛暑が去り、涼しい秋となりました。でも先日まで33℃あった温度か今日からは24℃。極端です。 被爆青桐3世が一カ月で大きく成長しました。そろそろ単独の鉢に植え替えてやらねばならないかもしれません。 被爆夾竹桃の子が我が家のベランダに加わりました。この二十日に終了した「広島アートプロジェクト」に参加アーチストが出品したものです。 今年のアートプロジェクトは、過去のプロジェクト検証でした。吉島公民館のグランドに仮設した野外アートセンターと市立大資料館、二つが会場でした。 今は、香川県を中心に開催されている「瀬戸内国際芸術祭」が人気です。」 −−−竹澤雄三

「寒さを嫌う青桐にはいいのですが、人間にとってはこの暑さ、湿度の高さは不快指数、急上昇です。昨日、撮ったNPO法人セトラひろしまにおいてある青桐二世の苗木です。秋になったら、地下上を試みます。今度は、倒されたり、引き抜かれたりしないよう、万全を期すつもりです。種から育てている青桐は我が家のベランダですこしづつ大きくなっています。種から育てるのは、子供を育てているようで夢がありますね。」 ---竹澤 It is OK since Chinese Parasol trees don't like coldness, but the humidity is so high here in Hiroshima. It is not good for us!! The other day, I took some pictures of the second generation of Hibaku Parasol seedlings at NPO Cetra Hiroshima where they are at. In fall, we will replant it on the ground and this time, we will try hard so no one will pull it out of the ground. The ones we sprouted from seeds are in our balcony and they are growing little by little. Growing trees from seeds is like having and seeing kids grow up. 「砂入さん、 今はニューヨークですか。暑いそうですね。 被爆青桐、被爆青桐二世（平和資料館東館北側にある）の種を発芽させ、今、育てています。最近、資料館売店でこの種を20円（5個）で頒布していて、入手しました。５つ植えているのですが、現在、３つが葉をだしました。 もうひとつはセトラにおいてあります。 では」 –––竹澤 "Hi, Mr Sunairi. Are you in NY now? It sounds like it is really hot there. I bought some seeds of Hibaku Chinese Parasol Tree at Hiroshima Peace memorial Museum for 30 cents for 5 seeds and now I am growing them. I planted 5 seeds altogether, then three of them sprouted. The other Parasol seedling is at Cetra, my friend's place. 以前の 被爆青桐二世 Hibaku 2nd Generation before なくなった被爆青桐二世 Hibaku 2nd Generation Gone!! 「砂入さん、 今月初めには、公園に居たのですが、14日訪ねたらいない！この間、この公園は、花見でにぎやかでした。 誠に残念です。公園で小さくなって、存在していたので、誰かが踏むのではないか、折ってしまうのではないか、ボールあそびのボールがあたるのではないかと気にはなっていたのですが・・・。 周辺をさがしましたが見当たりません。 小さな幹に大きな葉をつけてくれるのを夢みていたのですが・・・。 再挑戦はできますでしょうか。こちらでの関係者、みんな残念がっています。 今年の夏はけ帰省されますか。 申し訳ない報告です。」 竹澤 "Mr. Sunairi, Early this month of April 14th, I went to the park to see how our Hibaku Parasol Tree was doing, then I couldn't find it, I thought I saw it a while ago. This park had many people gathering for Hanami (in Japanese tradition in the spring time, they do picnick on the ground by blossomed trees). I feel terrible. It has gotten smaller without leaves, so I was afraid someone would step on it or kids playing succor would break the seedling...I looked for it around there for a while... I was dreaming of it growing large leaves....can I try again? Many of my friends are very sad about it. Are you coming back to Hiroshima? T...
