"Hey Hiroshi,
I got a sprout! I'm not sure if it's a Persimmon or a Japanese holly, though (it's kind of a big sprout, so I wonder if it's a Persimmon).

A tip from my mom: if seeds aren't sprouting, put a plastic grocery-store bag over it after watering and put a rubber band to keep it on the pot. After a few days check to see if anything's sprouted. That's what worked for me."
---Paul Schmelzer

Congrats, Paul!!

A recent update of Persimmon sprout at

p.s. i've got a tiny sprout in one of my pots. i think it's japanese holly, although it could be a seed that blew in when i had the pots outside several weeks ago.
